Job description

As a Software Developer Intern, you’ll be part of our Digital Innovation & Analytics (DIA) Scrum teams, building innovative solutions for our Private Banking colleagues and clients.

Work side by side with experienced software developers, contribute to our deliveries, and sharpen your skills with the latest technologies and agile methods. You'll have the freedom to share your ideas, tackle real challenges, and see the impact of your work - right from the start!

You’ll have the following tasks:

  • Contribute to Product Backlog Items (PBIs) with your coding skills;

  • Perform code reviews;

  • Take part in the Quality Assurance process;

  • Participate in all Scrum activities of the team you are part of, such as the daily stand-up, planning, retrospective, refinement, and sprint reviews.

Your talents

Creative, innovative, and digital savvy. This is how we can best describe you in the position of aspiring Software Developer. Talents that you use to guide our users in a constantly changing world, every day. By thinking out-of-the-box and asking questions, you add value to the team you are part of.

In addition:

  • You are a third- or fourth-year Bachelors or Master's student in software development (or similar)

  • Analytical, result-oriented and have a hands-on mentality;

  • You have development skills;

  • You are passionate about innovative technology and tools;

  • You are interested to learn everything about how payments work;

  • You are people minded and eager to learn;

  • You are available at least 32 per week for a minimum of 5 months;

  • You have good mastery of English, both oral and written.

Move ahead at Van Lanschot Kempen

Investing in a more future-oriented, sustainable, and data-driven way with various clients. Both nationally and internationally. With almost 300 years of experience, we make this ambition a reality at Van Lanschot Kempen. We do this with some 2,000 colleagues in various fields of expertise.

The Digital Innovation & Analytics (DIA) department is a start-up-like environment within Van Lanschot Kempen. This means a work environment that offers both the energetic and ambitious character of a start-up and a large company's solid benefits. DIA was founded to help the organisation with its continuous digital and AI (Artificial Intelligence) transformation.

An organisation's degree of innovation and agility also depends on the diversity of its workforce. Our differences make us stronger together. We promote an inclusive work environment where all colleagues feel at home. With us, you can be yourself. And we are proud of that.

Curious about the stories of colleagues and how they experience working at Van Lanschot Kempen? Go to People & Projects and find out more! Or listen to our Podcast series to hear what our colleagues have to say.

Job requirements

That’s what we do. The fact is, if you add value, you can obviously expect the same from us in return. A good work-life balance with our 'hybrid way of working' is a good example of this. In the Software Developer Internship, you will also be given:

  • Compensation of € 800,00 gross per month (based on 40h per week);

  • A company laptop;

  • A cool start-up like environment where you cooperate with high performing teams that build mobile- and web applications for our clients;

  • A lot of responsibility and a large amount of autonomy;

  • An enthusiastic internship supervisor that is a senior in their field of expertise;

  • The opportunity to work with the latest technologies (Angular, Azure, Github- and Microsoft Copilot, Swift&SwiftUI, Kotlin&Jetpack Compose and many more);

  • Our custom CodeKickers program that offers a wide range of courses and workshops to allow you to hit the ground running and quickly update your technical knowledge;

  • An environment to learn, make mistakes and develop yourself;

  • The opportunity to have an impact in one of the largest Wealth Managers in The Netherlands.
